December 18, A very very special day for Indian Cricket as on this day, The God of Cricket Sir Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar made his Oneday International debut against Pakistan in 1989, at Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan.
The sixTEEN year old boy started the journey of his outstanding career. A global Icon & Legend of Cricket.
However, it was not a very impressive start as Sachin was dismissed for a duck after playing just two deliveries. He was picked up by former Pakistan skipper Waqar Younis.
Indian captain Srikkanth won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan scored 87 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 16 over. In reply team India could only score 80 runs in 16 overs for the loss of nine wickets and lost the match by 7 runs.
Apart from Tendulkar, Salil Ankola and Vivek Razdan also made their first appearance of ODI in this match.
