Rinku Singh is a left-handed batsman and left-arm medium-fast bowler who was born on October 12, 1997, in Uttar Pradesh, India. He first came into the limelight as a teenager when he scored a double century in the Under-14 Vijay Merchant Trophy. Rinku’s father was a farmer who encouraged him to pursue cricket.
Rinku made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and scored an impressive 50 in his very first match. He continued to perform consistently and was soon called up to the India A squad for the 2018 England tour. In a warm-up match against Leicestershire, Rinku scored a century and followed it up with another hundred in the first unofficial Test against England Lions.

Rinku’s first-class debut came in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season, where he scored an unbeaten century in his second match against Tripura. He ended the season with 606 runs at an average of 55.09 and was Uttar Pradesh’s highest run-scorer. In the next season, he scored his maiden first-class double hundred against Goa.
