A biography of Abhimanyu Easwaran

Abhimanyu Easwaran is an Indian cricketer who was born on 6th October 1995 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He is known for his skills as a right-handed opening batsman and his occasional right-arm off-spin. Easwaran plays for Bengal in the Indian domestic circuit.

Easwaran began his career in cricket playing for Bengal’s under-19 team in 2013. He made his debut in first-class cricket in the 2015-16 season of the Ranji Trophy and performed exceptionally well by scoring 531 runs in 9 innings with an average of 66.37. He continued to perform consistently in the following seasons and played a crucial role in the Bengal team.

Easwaran was appointed as the captain of Bengal for the first time in 2018, and under his leadership, the team reached the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy. He also finished the season as the second-highest run-scorer with 861 runs in 10 matches. As a result of his impressive performances, he was included in the India A squad for their tour of England in 2018.

Abhimanyu Easwaran has also played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2019 and 2021. He was bought by KKR for his base price of INR 20 lakhs in the 2019 IPL auction.

Although Easwaran has been consistent in domestic cricket, he has not yet made his international debut. Nevertheless, he is continuously improving his skills and will likely impress national selectors with his performance and earn a call-up to the Indian cricket team in the future.
