The excitement of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League is about to begin today . A total of 74 matches will be played in this edition of IPL. 10 teams will battle it out among themselves for the 16th IPL title. All the teams have been divided into two groups A and B groups for this tournament. Read the article to know the IPL 2023 schedule and venue of the matches to be played .
Group A consists of five-time champions Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Supergiants. While four-time champions Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans have got a place in Group B. The inaugural match of IPL 16 will be played between Chennai and Gujarat Titans on Friday.

IPL 16 matches will be played in Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Dharamshala. In the tournament, each team will get to play 14 matches in the group stage. The top four teams from the group stage will get a chance to enter the playoffs.
