Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 8th match of the IPL 2023 season at Barsapara Cricket Stadium Guwahati on Wednesday, March 5. Royals, IPL 2022 season’s runner-up, opened their campaign with a magnificent 72-run win over Sunrisers. Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored some quick-fired fifties to reach the Royals to a huge total of 203/5 while batting first. While Yuzvendra Chahal took four big wickets, and Trent Boult picked two crucial wickets to resist the Sunrisers to just 131/8.\
On the other side, Dhawan-led side PBKS defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs (DLS Method) in their opening match and will be confident ahead of the match against Royals. PBKS were brilliant with both the bat and the ball as Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh gave the team a quick start.
In the middle order, Bhanuka Rajapaksa smashed 50 runs off 32 deliveries while Sam Curran and Jitesh Sharma scored some quick runs to help PBKS post 191 runs in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh was exceptional as he destroyed KKR’s top batsman. Rahul Chahar and Sikandar Raza were very impressive with the ball as well.
