Nathan Ellis is an Australian cricketer who was born on April 15, 1994, in Hobart, Tasmania. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a right-handed batsman.

Ellis made his debut in domestic cricket for Tasmania in the 2017-18 season. He was impressive in his first season, taking 16 wickets in six matches at an average of 23.62. His best performance came against Western Australia when he took 5/43 in the second innings.

Ellis continued to impress in the next few seasons and was rewarded with a call-up to the Hobart Hurricanes squad for the 2020-21 season of the Big Bash League (BBL). He made an immediate impact, taking 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 17.40. He was particularly impressive in the Eliminator match against the Sydney Thunder, taking 3/31 in his four overs to help his team reach the semifinals.

Ellis’ performances in the BBL earned him a spot in the Australian T20 squad for their tour of New Zealand in 2021. He made his debut in the second T20 match, where he took 3/31 in his four overs, including the wicket of New Zealand captain Kane Williamson.

In 2021, Ellis was picked up by Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for his base price of INR 20 lakh. He made his IPL debut in the 2021 season and played a crucial role in the team’s win against the Rajasthan Royals, taking 3/32 in his four overs.

Ellis is known for his accuracy and ability to bowl consistent lengths. He has the ability to swing the ball both ways and can also generate decent pace. He is considered to be a promising talent in Australian cricket and is expected to have a bright future ahead of him.
